Because helping local families is worth it — even if it’s 800ft in the air.
At Momentum Mortgages, we believe in going the extra mile for our clients — and occasionally… going a few thousand feet above the ground for a good cause too.
This summer, I’ve signed up for a Wing Walk (yes, the kind where you’re actually strapped to the top of a plane while it’s flying) to raise money for a fantastic local charity, We Are Beams.
And just to make things even more interesting……I’m absolutely terrified of heights!
💜 Who Are We Are Beams?
We Are Beams is a charity that supports disabled children and their families across Kent and the South East. Their services include:
Short Breaks (respite for families)
Direct support and guidance with EHCPs and education
Holiday clubs and play schemes for children with additional needs
Emotional and practical support for families navigating complex care systems
They help over 450 families every week — and they rely on fundraising to keep going. That’s why I’m doing this.
😱 Why a Wing Walk?
Let’s be honest. There are easier ways to raise money. A bake sale… A sponsored run… Maybe a raffle. But where’s the fun in that?
Okay, maybe “fun” isn’t the word I’ll be using when I’m hurtling through the air at 130mph, strapped to a biplane wing.
But it’s memorable, and it gets people talking — and more importantly, it gets people donating.
This is more than a personal challenge. It’s a chance to raise real money for a cause that genuinely changes lives.
